Read Across America Day – Happy Birthday Dr. Seuss

Wow, yesterday was a fabulous day at Lundy Elementary! We started off with a “Green Eggs and Ham” breakfast, then transitioned to an assembly focusing on Read Across America! Mrs. Rius and Mr. Silebi performed a skit from the “Green Eggs and Ham” book written by Dr. Seuss with the help of some of the sixth graders. Students read poems and paragraphs about what reading means to them. It was wonderful to see that books can be so much more than words. It was also exciting to see all the different book characters come to life in the costumes everyone was wearing. The fun continued in the afternoon when Lundy hosted the Jr/Sr High School for reading buddies. Thank you Jr/Sr High School students for being such positive role models. And a big thank you to everyone involved and those of you that shared in our  “Read Across America Day”!
