Senior Spotlight: Dustin Astbury

Today’s Senior Spotlight is on Dustin Astbury.  Dustin has been in the district since the fourth grade and he has been very active in athletics participating in football, basketball, track and baseball.  He even played competitive volleyball during homecoming competitions!  Dustin’s best Lowell memory was during this year’s  “Senior Night” at the end of the football season.  He enjoyed seeing his family and the families of his teammates as they came out to support the seniors’ last game under the home football lights!  While at Lowell, Dustin has made many friends and will miss them all along with his teachers.  His favorite teacher is Mr. Pat Todd because he is funny, jokes with his students, and he “put up” with Dustin for four periods this semester!  One of Dustin’s funniest memories involved his Physical Education class. After P.E., someone pranked him by taking his clothes while he was taking a shower!  After graduation Dustin plans on enlisting in the Navy and will be focusing on improving his overall fitness and his mind.  Dustin has his priorities straight as ultimately, one day, he hopes to be a good husband and father.  In terms of advice to future Lowell students, Dustin acknowledges that school can, at times, be “kind of gloomy”.  He challenges those left behind to “think positive, be positive, and have good friends”.  Dustin’s Shout Outs go to Ms. Graham for helping to teach him to take responsibility and to Coach Todd for helping Dustin with teamwork, taking responsibility, and giving his all to everything he does.  Great job Dustin and congratulations on your wonderful accomplishments!
