Read Across America-Happy Birthday Dr. Seuss

Wow, what a great day we had at Lundy! We started the day off with “Green Eggs and Ham”, then transitioned to an action packed assembly where Ben Silebi and Abbey Rius acted out the book by Dr. Seuss with the help of some of the sixth grade. It was hilarious and an epic hit. Thank you Mr. Silebi and Ms. Rius for entertaining us and showing us just how fun a book can be.  Then children from the various elementary grades read poems to the audience and told us why reading is so important to them. In the afternoon, Lundy hosted the Jr/Sr high school students for reading buddies. Thank you Jr/Sr high school students for helping the elementary to “Read Across America”! Lastly, a big thank you to everyone that dressed as their favorite character from a book, it was so much fun to see how reading can become more than just the pages of a book.
