Hello Lowell Families & Community,
As we round the corner to the last few weeks of school, there is definitely the buzz of excitement around Lundy! The ABC Countdown is still going strong, sixth graders had a fantastic time at outdoor school, perfect attenders get to eat donuts with Mrs. Edgerton today, and Lundy students are gearing up for the last six-week celebration! Why not throw in a Jog-A-Thon, an assembly, and a few more field trips? Each teacher will be reaching out with specific classroom information for families.
For a short week, it was very busy at Lowell Jr/Sr High. Students wrapped up forecasting for their schedules for next year. Students learned about required coursework, selecting electives as schedules are built, and complete their schedules for the 2026–2027 school year.
The Red Devils Baseball Team traveled to Kennedy on Wednesday for their playoff game. Unfortunately, their season came to an end, but congratulations to the team on a great season and for earning a spot in the state playoffs.
Three student athletes competed in the State Track Championships at Hayward Field on Thursday and will continue through Friday. We are proud of their success and wish them the best of luck representing Lowell.
Music Awards Night was on Thursday, and the musicians were recognized for their hard work, growth, and contributions throughout the year.
Next week, the Lowell Jr/Sr High Spring Concert will take place on Tuesday, June 2, at 7:00pm in the cafetorium.
A Signing Day Assembly for student athletes David Finch and Maddie Thurman will take place in the main gym at 10:00am on Tuesday, June 2. David will wrestle at Southwestern Oregon Community College, while Maddie will play softball at Umpqua Community College. Congratulations on this exciting milestone.
Next week also marks the beginning of many of our end-of-year traditions and activities for the Class of 2026. Baccalaureate is on Wednesday, June 3, at 7:00pm. Kinder Walk is at 1:45pm on Thursday, June 4, which is also the last day of school for our seniors. On Friday, June 5, the Senior Parade begins at Tumac at 6:15pm and is followed by Graduation at 7:00pm in the gymnasium. This is a wonderful week filled with tradition and celebration as we honor the Class of 2026.
The relationship between a parent and a teacher is one of the best ways to support our students. Here is an article that reflects on how to and why we should strengthen that relationship. https://easchools.org/parent-teacher-communication/
Stay safe, healthy, and kind!
