The after school Kids in the Kitchen class started this week for 3rd-5th grade students. Students started the session with learning about the importance of food safety and kitchen guidelines. Through the course of the program, students will gaining real cooking skills, while having fun in the kitchen. Each weekly class focuses on a different nutrition theme and includes hands-on cooking projects. Students will also get to enjoy the rewards of their work in the kitchen, by eating what they prepare and taking home recipes to share with their families. This week the kids learned about fruits and veggies and how to handle food, they also made trail mix. Yum!
