Dear Lowell Families and Community,
As always, the students and staff are busy and productive at Lowell! Our Administration team hosted a “Admin Walk” for the administrators from rural Lane County Schools. The administrators observed our teachers, collaborated, and debriefed their experiences. Our leaders continue to search for experiences that help them to better guide our staff and students. The feedback from our visitors was amazing! They complimented our students, our staff, our buildings and our campus!
Lundy is having a fundraiser! Our students are selling Domino’s Pizza Cards! Packets went home on Monday. Students have one more week to sell as many pizza cards as possible! The pizza cards are great deal! If you don’t know a Lundy student but are interested in a card, please contact the office at 541.937.2105. These fundraisers help pay for field trips, six-week celebrations, events, and assemblies.
Lundy students were out and about with hands on learning this week. The 5th grade visited a living tree farm. The 4th grade students had fun at the pumpkin patch, and 2nd grade explored Mt. Pisgah Arboretum.
Picture day has come and gone, but retakes are scheduled for November 2, at Lundy, and November 4, at Lowell Jr/Sr High.
The Lowell Jr/Sr High students are busy as well. Our junior high students also took a trip to visit Mount Pisgah Arboretum. Students spent time exploring the natural environment, identifying plants, and learning more about the ecosystems right here in our area.
Mr. Winn wants to give special recognition to our high school students who stayed after last Friday's Homecoming Dance to help clean up the gym. He was incredibly impressed by how many students volunteered to stay and help. They worked hard, got everything cleaned up quickly, and made sure the gym was left just as they found it. Seeing so many students take pride in our school and facilities, and especially after a long and busy week of Homecoming activities was truly appreciated. It's a great reminder of the outstanding students we have at Lowell!
The ASB students are already getting into the Halloween spirit! They began decorating the school for October and Halloween.
Congratulations to the Lowell Jr/Sr High Red Devils of the week: Kai Franks, Aniah Watson, Henry Coiner, Klynt Faught, Chris Sheridan, Christina Henshall, Anthony Janelli-Sutherland, Yara Islas, Zendaya Clark, Ares Isley, Easton Lauzon, and Henley Garner. We appreciate their positive contributions to our school community.
A reminder for parents and community members alike. Please do not park in the bus zones. These areas are clearly marked as No Parking areas. Our buses are frequently transporting students to and from field trips, activities, and athletics. For the safety of our students, staff and community, please do not park in these areas at any time of the day.
While it doesn’t feel like fall, the calendar says it is. With fall comes holidays and the need for food for everyone. Some of our outstanding students from Ms. Buckley’s class will be volunteering in the food pantry starting this week. Please feel free to donate non-perishable items for our community members in need.
As always, stay safe, healthy and kind!
