Senior Spotlight: Symon Thurman

Symon Thurman is the focus of today’s Senior Spotlight! Symon has been a student in the Lowell School District for five years. He has been very active in athletics and has participated in wrestling, football, and baseball. Other activities include being a Link Crew Leader and ASB vice president and this year’s ASB President. His best memory at Lowell was winning a state championship medal in wrestling. Mrs. Beckett is his favorite teacher because she is organized and is a friend as well as a teacher. Symon’s advice to students is that you don’t HAVE to go to college to be successful. Symon will attend Southwestern Oregon Community College in the fall where he will also continue wrestling. His future career plans are to become a pipefitter. When Symon graduates he will miss his friends, participating in sports and all of the support he has received. One of the funniest times Symon remembers was during his sophomore year rooming with Owen Chapman, Justyn Barton and Kenny Lane during a wrestling trip to the Redmond Classic. His shout outs go to Tyson Brasfield, Owen Chapman, Andy Kintzley, and Taysian Williamson. Congratulations Symon!
