Hello Lowell Families and Community,

Lundy's next six-week celebration is right around the corner! Please make sure to check with your student and classroom teacher about whether they have earned this celebration.

We will be focusing a lot on attendance at Lundy, and how important it is for your student to attend regularly. The first round of perfect attendees will be announced next week and get “Donuts with Mrs. Edgerton”!

After a district wide send off on Wednesday, our high school varsity boys’ basketball team left for Pendleton as they compete in the OSAA 2A State Championship Tournament. We are proud of the hard work and dedication the team has shown throughout the season and wish them the best as they represent Lowell at the state level.

Spring sports have also officially started this week. Softball, track, and baseball began practices and are getting underway rain or shine as teams start preparing for the upcoming season.

Middle school track starts on March 16, for optional practices and after spring break for mandatory practices. If your middle schooler isn’t already signed up, make sure they do it right away! You can sign up through ParentVue or the link on the district website.

Last week’s Red Devils of the Week were Jade Clark, Zac Chesnut, Kinsley Bazzani, and Nate Waters!

In addition, Nate Waters had an outstanding accomplishment this past weekend. Nate competed at the OMEA District 12 Solo & Ensemble Festival and won the Tenor Voice category across all school divisions. As the league champion, Nate will now advance to compete at the OSAA Solo State Finals at Portland State University on May 2.

Our next Family Fun Night is March 11, at Lowell Jr/Sr High School from 5:30-6:30pm. There will be free food, an obstacle course and a rock wall!

Spring break is right around the corner! Mark your calendar for Monday, March 23, through Friday, March 27.

Our classified staff are amazing! We can never thank them enought for their dedication, patience, and the love they put into their work. From feeding our students, making sure they arrive safely, ensuring they have a clean environment to thrive in, and all of the other ways they care each and every day, their support in unwavering and their hard work and dedication do not go unnoticed.

We had a great day at Lundy thanks to the Lowell Jr/Sr High students coming to read with our elementary kids. They they celebrate Read Across America and Dr. Seuss's birthday. Students and staff dressed up and enjoyed time reading some of their favorite books.

Boys' basketball defeats Bandon 39-36! The Red Devils are headed to Pendleton! #GoRedDevils

Our Red Devil Wrestlers are headed to State! Students, staff, parents and community members all took the opportunity to give a send off to our ten wrestlers competing for a state title. #GoRedDevils

Boys' basketball vs Bandon at home on Friday, February 27, at 6:00pm in a first round State Tournament game! Come pack the stands and cheer on our Red Devils! The winner advances to the next round in Pendleton! #GoRedDevils

Congratulations to the boys’ and girls’ basketball teams for qualifying for the league tournament. The girls will play at Lost River on Tuesday, February 17, at 5:00pm and the boys will play at home on Thursday February 19, against Bonanza or Lost River. Time is TBD.

We are so proud of our January students of the month! A big round of applause for Lundy student, Ellie Travis; Junior High student, Bill Powell-Buchan; and High School student Kaylie Dodson.

A reminder that Monday, February 16, is Presidents Day and is a no school day for Lowell School District.

Lowell is hosting a stop on the Lane CTE tour this Thursday, February 12. We are showcasing CTE pathways available to our Lowell Jr/Sr High School students.

The Lowell Honor band performed at Douglas High School. LHS Seniors who play in the band were able to celebrate this final event.

Families are invited to attend our free Holiday Family Fun Night held in the Lowell High School Cafetorium. Join us for festive photos with Santa and Mrs. Claus. Hot dogs and root beer floats will be served.
