Senior Spotlight: Liam Burch
Lowell School District is proud to feature Liam Burch in our Senior Spotlight! Liam has spent four wonderful years in the district, making a lasting impact through both sports and the arts. Throughout his high school career, he dedicated two years to both baseball and football, and he spent all four years sharing his talents in band and choir. His favorite memories of Lowell revolve around traveling with the music department and simply spending quality time with his friends.
When reflecting on his time in the classroom, Liam highlights Ms. Miller as his favorite teacher because she truly holds her students to a high standard and pushes them to work hard. While he leaves behind many great connections, the person he will miss the most is his dad, whom he loved being in school with every day. High school also brought plenty of laughs, with the funniest moment being the time he successfully convinced a substitute teacher that his classmate Alex’s name was actually Greg.
Looking ahead, Liam has bright and ambitious plans. Starting this fall, he will attend Lane Community College (LCC) to complete the prerequisite classes required to apply for the paramedic program in 2027. His ultimate career aspiration is to become a firefighter/paramedic.

She played soccer in fourth and fifth grade, played softball from fifth through ninth grade, and spent her sophomore and junior years competing on the Track & Field team. Her favorite memories at Lowell stem from her time in track and at school dances, with her junior prom alongside her friends and sister holding a truly special place in her heart.
In the classroom, Madeline found a wonderful mentor in Ms. Miller, who is her favorite teacher because she has consistently believed in her, and Madeline admires her strength and support. As she gets ready to graduate, Madeline notes that she will most miss the close friendships she has built and the supportive teachers who have stood by her side over the past four years. Her high school experience was also filled with plenty of laughter, including an unforgettable moment in English III. While reading a poem in class, she hit a line containing the word “legend” and, completely without thinking, stood up and announced "This is how legends are made" out loud, sending her and her friend Akira into uncontrollable laughter.
Madeline has a clear, inspiring vision for her next chapter. Driven by a passion to become a Firefighter/EMT, her next years are packed with ambitious steps. She plans to start the fire academy with Dexter Fire, secure a primary side job to ensure financial stability, and begin working toward her EMT certification at Lane Community College (LCC) in the fall of 2026, with ultimate goals of potentially becoming a paramedic. For the students following in her footsteps, Madeline advises keeping a healthy balance between academics and enjoying the high school experience, stepping outside of your comfort zone, and always treating others with kindness.

As graduation approaches, the person Mckenna is going to miss the most is her mom, whom she loved bothering every single day in her office. High school also brought its fair share of unforgettable laughs, including the time she and a few friends sneaked out early for lunch to hit McDonald's. They ended up making it back very late and got into some trouble. When Mr. Winn asked if they had learned a lesson from the ordeal, Mckenna jokingly replied, "don’t speed even if you're late." While he wasn't a fan of the answer and gave her a good grilling, she guarantees the memory was absolutely worth the lunch detention.

She appreciates Mr. Ricci for always making his classes highly enjoyable and remarkably easy to understand, while Mr. Yarbrough earned a special place in her journey by turning his wood shop into a welcoming environment to learn valuable life lessons and freely express creativity. Guided by her experiences, Graycee offers a strong, grounded piece of advice for future Lowell students: stay focused on your goals and don't let others get to you.

After graduation, she plans to attend Northwest College School of Beauty to earn her professional licensing in hair and nails, a journey that will take about two years. A fun filled assembly at Lowell Jr/Sr High School honored so many of our amazing students. Our newest ASB leaders addressed their constiuents. Aniah Watson, Brenten Davies, and Jax Norcutt were celebrated for qualifiying for the State Track Championships. The state track meet will be held this Thursday and Friday. The Red Devils Baseball Team moves one step farther on their road to state. The assembly wrapped up with a big send off for the baseball team from the student body, our fire department and the community as they head to Kennedy for a 4:30pm match up.
